Residential Academic Programs (RAPs) are living-learning communities. Students apply to be a part of the program, live together in the same residence hall, and enroll in one or more courses together. CICS offers two RAPs:  Fostering Inclusion by Engaging in Real-World Computing Education (FIERCE) and Modern Computing.

You can earn your BS and MS in computer science in five years with our Accelerated MS program. Students in this program will take four graduate-level courses during the final year of their undergraduate program, then complete the MS degree in one additional year. 

Build leadership skills, make connections, and gain hands-on experience by participating in one of our 20 active student organizations and affinity groups, including our HackHer413 and HackUMass hackathons, and student chapters of the Association for Computing Machinery and Girls Who Code. 

Slated to open in 2025 our new 90,000-square-foot facility will bring together computer science students and faculty in classrooms, research labs, and community spaces designed to inspire creativity and collaboration in service of the common good.
