Casey Hayman

Casey Hayman joined the College of Computer and Information Sciences at UMass as an Academic Advisor in 2021. He has worked previously in academic advising as a Graduate Advisor at UMass Amherst and as a Professional Academic Advisor at American International College. 

Casey has also worked on the faculty side of higher education, teaching courses on literature and popular culture, as well as college writing and college success seminars, at Wesleyan University, Springfield College, American International College, and UMass Amherst.

Casey has a PhD in English literature from UMass Amherst, with a specialization in African American literature and culture. He is passionate about consuming and discussing literature and popular culture of all types, but especially music. He is also an avid fisherman, and enjoys exploring the outdoors with his family. Casey lives in Greenfield, MA, with his family, along with a cat named Omar and a Chihuahua named Cheese.
