Erika Dawson Head received her BA in 2012, a double major in political science and sociology from Central Connecticut State University. In 2015, she received her master's degree in counseling with a specialization in student development in higher education. Her preferred gender pronoun is she. In her most recent position, Dawson Head was instrumental in establishing an Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Saint Joseph, while serving as diversity and employee engagement coordinator for the University's Department of Human Resources. She has been an administrator, participant, and presenter at the True Colors Conference for LGBT Youth for the past seven years, and has been an active participant with the Tri-State Diversity Committee for the past three years. She served for two years as a commissioner for the City of New Britain, Conn., for the Commission on Community and Neighborhood Development (CCND). She has been an active participant and/or leader in numerous community organizations and has a passion for social justice. Dawson Head is driven by her strong belief in diversity, equity, and inclusion, while providing opportunities for all people.
