MS in Computer Science — On Campus

Along with enhancing your proficiency in software design, implementation, and testing, our on-campus master’s program lets you take advantage of the experiential learning opportunities that come with an immersive experience on our flagship campus, including:
- Active research and state-of-the-art computer facilities
- Special seminars to augment classroom and lab study
- Collaboration with a range of schools and departments, from art to zoology
Plan on two to four years to finish your degree, depending on your course load each semester. Degree requirements include:
- 30 credits meeting the course requirements
- Four core courses, with at least one theory, systems, or artificial intelligence class, such as Algorithms for Data Science and Intro to Computer Network Security
- 12 credits in 600-level classes
Featured classes
This course studies the mathematical foundations of big data processing, developing algorithms and learning how to analyze them. We explore methods for sampling, sketching, and distributed processing of large- scale databases, graphs, and data stream
This course will introduce core machine learning models and algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, and dimensionality reduction.
We will explore foundational topics at the intersection of economics and computation, starting with the foundations of game theory: Nash equilibria, the theory of cooperative games, before proceeding to covering more advanced topics.
