The UMass Cybersecurity Club will be hosting its first ever CTF directed specifically at UMass and Five Colleges students during the weekend of October 25-27! MinutemanCTF 2024 will be a beginner-oriented in-person/hybrid CTF exclusive to UMass/Five College Students. The goal of the CTF is to teach the UMass student body introductory Cybersecurity principles and other skills not often covered in traditional classes. We aim to give students a hands-on opportunity to bridge the gap between concepts they learn in class and their real-world applications in cybersecurity.

We plan on having challenges in all the standard CTF categories (Web, Pwn, Rev, Crypto, Hardware, Forensics, OSINT, Misc). We will also be featuring a line of less technical, physical challenges in the style of an "ARG" that involve traveling across the UMass campus.

The in-person portions of the event will be happening in the LGRC, primarily room A112. We will be having a kickoff featuring members of CS faculty at 6 PM on Friday, and there will be having a number of panels and talks throughout the weekend from both faculty and companies, tentatively including Meta, Bugcrowd, Fortinet, and more! Check out this calendar after Oct 17 to track all of our events.

Winners of the CTF can expect to win up to $100 in prizes; there will be several prize brackets, including ones for teams of exclusively first-year students, a raffle, and a writeup competition. Hope to see you there!
