The Center for Data Science in the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences invites the campus community to attend the Data Science for the Common Good (DS4CG) Poster Session, a special event showcasing innovative problem-solving projects by the 2024 DS4CG fellows, Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Computer Science Building rooms 150-151. Lunch will be provided at the event.

DS4CG is a summer program that trains aspiring data scientists to tackle real-world problems that benefit the common good. This year’s cohort worked on impactful projects that involved improving ways to study media across different languages and cultures, enhancing models that predict species’ geographic ranges for biologists, ecologists, and citizen scientists, and improving data collection and entry methods for clinics and hospitals.

More information about the poster session and this year’s projects is available on the here. To request more information or RSVP, fill out the online Data Science for the Common Good 2025 Information Request form.
