About

Pamela Stawasz joined Manning CICS in 2019 as an academic advisor. She earned an MEd in higher education administration with a concentration in community service learning from UMass Amherst and a BA in history from Trinity College, Conn. She has worked in higher education for many years in varied positions including academic advising, residential life, LGBTQIA student support and services, alumni and parent programs, and admission.

Stawasz has adopted a quote from Jackie Robinson as a personal motto: "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." She hopes to have a positive impact on Manning CICS students' lives. She loves working with college students and supporting them as they explore their academic and co-curricular interests, develop goals, and prepare for life after college. Her advice to students is: "Get to know lots of people! UMass is a bureaucracy, and very little will be done for you, but there are lots of us here eager to help. You may need to make the first step, though, to reach out and get to know instructors, advisors, and others. Take advantage of as many academic, cultural, social, and experiential (research, internships, study abroad, community engagement, etc.) opportunities as you can. They will truly enhance your education and prepare you best for life after college."

Stawasz enjoys singing, trivia, musicals (some favorites are Hamilton, Wicked, Come From Away, and Avenue Q), Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and most animals, particularly cats. She is looking forward to working with you!
