Speaker: Dr. Petrouchka Moïse
Please join us Friday, November 22, from 10:00 a.m.—11:15am EST for a virtual lecture by Dr. Petrouchka Moïse, lead curator at the Haitian Arts Digital Crossroads project (HADC).
HADC is a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and Reference Resources (HCRR) grant project by Grinnell College Libraries and the Waterloo Center for the Arts (WCA). Dr. Moïse works with WCA’s Haitian art collection and other collaborating partners to assist in the digitizing and cataloging of their collection, the largest of Haitian art in the world. This lecture will explore how digital technologies can be used to revitalize archives and to make Haitian art and art history publicly accessible.
Speaker bio: Dr. Petrouchka Moïse is an Assistant Professor / Cultural & Community-based Digital Curator at Grinnell College Libraries. As an artist/scholar, she teaches classes on visual and material culture and curatorial studies, focusing on the Caribbean. Moïse is the co-lead of the Haitian Arts Digital Crossroad (HADC) project.
